NFL Draft 2024: Chris Trapasso's Round 3 Grades

Bears, Steelers Shine While Eagles Stumble

Round 3 Recap

The third round of the 2024 NFL Draft provided more fireworks as teams continued to bolster their rosters with talented prospects. With six quarterbacks already off the board, there was still plenty of intrigue and excitement to be found.

Chris Trapasso, NFL analyst for CBS Sports, has released his grades for the third round. Here's a look at some of his top picks:

Steelers: Darnell Washington (A-)
Trapasso praised the Steelers for their selection of Washington, a massive 6'7", 330-pound offensive tackle from Georgia. He called Washington "a potential All-Pro" with "outstanding size and athleticism."

Bears: Trade up for Anthony Richardson (B+)
The Bears traded up to select Richardson, a highly touted quarterback from Florida. Trapasso believes Richardson has "elite arm talent" but needs to develop his consistency and accuracy. However, he sees the potential for the Bears to have found their franchise quarterback.

Eagles: Christian Gonzalez (C)
Trapasso gave the Eagles a mixed grade for their selection of Gonzalez, a cornerback from Colorado. While he acknowledged Gonzalez's athleticism and coverage skills, he expressed concerns about his lack of experience and tendency to give up big plays.

Trapasso also graded other notable picks, including the Patriots' selection of defensive end Nolan Smith (A-) and the Dolphins' trade up for cornerback Cameron Young (B+). Stay tuned for more updates and analysis from Chris Trapasso as the 2024 NFL Draft continues.
